College Retains Spot Among the Top 10 Programs in the Nation

The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s online graduate program remains among the top 10 best programs in the nation, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Online Programs ranking.

The College’s online master’s degree in criminal justice retained its respective spots at No. 8 nationally and No. 6 among public universities. For veterans, the online program checked in at No. 5.

“The college’s continued appearance among top-ranked graduate programs is an honor to our outstanding faculty,” said Thomas Blomberg, dean and Sheldon L. Messinger Professor of Criminology. “Their dedication to the success of our diverse student population as well as their high-quality scholarship shows their ongoing commitment to our intellectual community and the field of criminology.”

For the 2021 Best Online Graduate Programs ranking, U.S. News evaluated master’s degree programs in criminal justice and criminology using five categories including: engagement, faculty credentials and training, service and technologies, expert opinion, and student excellence.

The College is no stranger to the U.S. News & World Reportrankings. Not only has it been consecutively named among the top 10 of Best Online Graduate Programs, it has also been consecutively named among the top 10 of Best Graduate Programs. Additionally, the College continues to be acknowledged by the news magazine as one of the top 10 Best Online Programs for Veterans.
