Re-Validation of the Florida Department of Corrections’ Correctional Operations Trend Analysis System (COTAS)

This project is a re-validation of the Florida Department of Corrections (DOC) Correctional Operations Trend Analysis System (COTAS) by reviewers, from Florida State University’s (FSU) College of Criminology and Criminal Justice’s Center for Criminology and Public Policy and from Infinity Software. The National Institute of Justice is requested a re-validation of the system, in order to discover the extent to which the Department has implemented the recommendations of a previous evaluation, done by FSU’s Center for Criminology and Public Policy Research. The reviewers examined the 21 recommendations provided by the original validation of COTAS and determined whether or not each recommendation was addressed and if so, the extent to which it was addressed or implemented by the DOC. Their findings are listed in the final report.
