Evidence-Based Policy Planning for the Leon County Detention Center: Population Trends and Forecasts

Funded by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, the purpose of this project is to examine current and past trends in Leon County’s detention center population and forecast future levels of incarceration. This project also examines trends in bookings, releases, and time spent in the detention center—all factors that influence the detention center population. The findings of this project will provide greater understanding of past, current, and future trends in the detention center population and assist Leon County in planning, budgeting, and developing policies.
