Assessing the Department of Juvenile Justice’s (DJJ) Sourcebook of Delinquency Interventions

The purpose of this project is to identify evidence-based delinquency intervention programs for inclusion in DJJ’s Sourcebook. The project includes conducting an in-depth review of all delinquency intervention programs currently in the 2015 Sourcebook by examining the current literature and scientific rigor used to assess the interventions. After a thorough review of each intervention has been conducted, the intervention will be placed in one of three delinquency intervention tiers according to the strength and methodological rigor of the empirical evidence or be recommended for removal from the Sourcebook. Additional delinquency intervention programs not currently in the Sourcebook will also be reviewed to determine whether they qualify for inclusion in the Sourcebook. Overall, the goal of the project is to provide the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and its program providers with an up-to-date list of evidence-based delinquency interventions that have been empirically evaluated to reduce juvenile offending and/or recidivism and other risk factors associated with criminal behavior.
