Race and Crime Research & Policy Institute

Promoting research that explores the relationship between race, crime, and justice.

The Race and Crime Research & Policy Institute promotes rigorous policy-oriented research focused on understanding the linkages between race, ethnicity, crime, and justice. The Institute examines important questions to assist government agencies, educational institutions, and community stakeholders in the development of policies that reduce racial disparities and the resulting inequalities that shape long-term social and economic mobility. The Institute is committed to: 1) advancing research on the confluence of race, crime, and justice to reduce the negative consequences that result from disparate punishment outcomes; and 2) promoting partnerships between social scientists and practitioners.
