Undergraduate criminology student Mary Delina Wright has been awarded a 2006 University Honors Thesis Grant.
The grant will support her research leading to an honors thesis, specifically focusing on the public controversy that arose about the book Eichmann in Jerusalem: a Report on the Banality of Evil and its author, Hannah Arendt.
Wright will now be traveling to Washington, D.C. and using files only available in the Library of Congress regarding the Eichmann trial. She hopes to gain “further understanding of cultural, political, and social reception of a book whose theme has been so profoundly influential and controversial.”
Wright’s honors thesis director Professor Dan Maier-Katkin guides Wright in her research.
The grant, awarding up to $1,000 for travel expenses and expense items related to research, is funded by the Bess Ward Endowment.
