College Welcomes Three New Assistant Professors

This fall, the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice is pleased to welcome three new assistant professors, Young-An Kim, Kyle McLean, and Steven Zane.

Young-An Kim received his Ph.D. in Criminology, Law & Society from University of California-Irvine.  His research interests include neighborhoods and crime, criminology of place, community context of crime, crime patterns in street segments, urban land use and crime, units of analysis, geo-spatial analysis, street network, sociology of health, urban sociology, structural equation modeling (SEM), and quantitative research methods. Dr. Kim’s research has appeared in Crime & Delinquency, Journal of Quantitative Criminology, and Social Science Research. 

Kyle McLean received his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from University of South Carolina. His research interests include policing, criminological theory, and social psychology. Dr. McLean’s recent research has appeared in Criminal Justice and BehaviorThe British Journal of Criminology, and Crime & Delinquency.

Steven Zane received his Ph.D. in Criminology from the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Northeastern University. Additionally, Dr. Zane holds a J.D. from Boston College Law School. His research interests are juvenile transfers, racial disparities in juvenile and criminal justice processing, crime prevention, and criminal law and punishment. Dr. Zane’s published work has appeared in Justice QuarterlyCriminology & Public PolicyJournal of Criminal JusticeYouth Violence and Juvenile Justice, and British Journal of Criminology.
