Dixie Rocker

Dixie Rocker received her Ph.D. from Florida State University in the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, her research focuses on the roles of gender, prison programs, and parenthood in prison experiences and prisoner reentry. Her dissertation titled "The Effect of Parenthood On Reentry Outcomes: A Consideration of Gender and Parent-Child Relationship Quality" exemplifies these research interests. Her most recent research explores the gendered narratives of convicted offenders using interviews with Portuguese prisoners, specifically highlighting their perceptions of prison and expectations for after their release.
