This year’s Graduate-Faculty Workshop Series begins Sept. 25 with Institutional Review Board Compliance

Graduate students, make plans to attend the first installment of the Graduate-Faculty Workshop Series, Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m. in Classroom #215.

At this interactive workshop Dr. Daniel Mears will cover Institutional Review Board compliance.

Institutional Review Board compliance is an important first step in conducting research and independent Human Subjects Committee approval is required for students to complete their thesis/dissertation. Independent approval is required even if students have been using data where a faculty member has already gained approval. Dr. Mears served on the Human Subjects Committee for seven years. This workshop will provide graduate students with the unique opportunity to hear from a former HSC member and learn how to access the HSC website, navigate IRB process, and discuss the Graduate School’s requirements.

This will be a “how-to” workshop presentation. Students are encouraged to bring questions and/or brief descriptions of the data they would like to use. Dr. Mears will be able to provide advise on how to navigate the process.

Breakfast begins at 9:30 a.m.
Workshop begins at 10:00 a.m.

Don’t miss out on this great opportunity!
