College Mourns Passing of Patron

The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice is saddened to announce the passing of FSU alumna and College patron, Ms. Rosalind D. Czajkoski.

Ms. Czajkoski was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and moved to Tallahassee in 1966 when her husband Dr. Eugene H. Czajkoski joined the faculty at Florida State University. Dr. Czajkoski later became the founding dean of the School of Criminology and Ms. Czajkoski worked as the secretary to the assistant dean of the School of Music before joining the U.S. Geological Survey. In 1991, she retired as the editor of the Florida District of the USGS after more than 30 years of civil service with the agency. In addition to their service to the university, the couple established the Dr. Eugene H. & Rosalind D. Czajkoski Scholarship Fund for students of the College of Criminology & Criminal Justice.

“Rosalind will be deeply missed by the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the entire Florida State University community,” said Dean Thomas Blomberg. “She was a delightful person who cared profoundly about and was incredibly dedicated to the University, the College, and its students.”

Ms. Czajkoski passed away in Tallahassee on Wednesday, Nov. 11 at the age of 91. She was predeceased in death by Dr. Czajkoski, her husband of 45 years, who died in February 2007.
