Special Issue of Criminology and Public Policy Focus of Congressional Luncheon

The most recent issue of Criminology and Public Policy, Volume 10, Issue 1, February, 2011 edited by Tom Blomberg, Dean and Sheldon L. Messinger Professor of Criminology, was the focus of a congressional briefing February 15 in Washington. D.C. The briefing entitled: Crime and Imprisonment: How to Reduce Both was sponsored by the American Society of Criminology (ASC) and the Consortium for Social Science Associations (COSSA). Participants included:

  • Thomas Blomberg, Dean and Sheldon L. Messinger Professor of Criminology, FSU
  • Richard Rosenfeld, Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice, University of Missouri, St. Louis.
  • Daniel Nagin, Professor of Public Policy and Statistics, Carnegie Mellon University
  • Steve Durlauf, Professor of Economics, University of Wisconsin-Madison
  • Honorable Richard Thornburgh, Former US Attorney General for Presidents Reagan and Bush, and former Governor of Pennsylvania
  • Honorable William Bratton, Former Police Commissioner New York City and Los Angeles
  • Honorable Laurie Robinson, Assistant Attorney General, Office of Justice Programs
  • Lawrence Sherman, Professor of Criminology, Cambridge University and University of Maryland.
