On Friday, Sept. 30, the College of Criminology & Criminal Justice rolled out the welcome mat for Parents Weekend. Parents were invited to visit Student Services in Eppes Hall for complementary refreshments and gift bags. While picking up their treats, parents were greeted by members the College’s advising staff and invited to take information on the College and the programs it offers.
On Friday, Sept. 30, well known corporate leader and author Albert J. Dunlap will be signing copies of his latest book Mean Business: How I Save Bad Companies and Make Good Companies Great.
On Sept. 9, the Criminology Development Council held the 2016 Hall of Fame Celebratory Dinner at Hotel Duval in Tallahassee, Fla.
The event was held to honor alumni of the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice who have demonstrated outstanding professional accomplishments, service to the College, Florida State University, and their communities.
Five alumni were honored at this year’s event.
2016 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients included: Dr. Max Bromley (BS ’72, MS ’73) and Dr. Charles Swanson (BS ’69, MS ’71).
Recent College of Criminology and Criminal Justice graduate, Catherine Meadors, was inducted into the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society
on Aug. 4.
Ms. Meadors was one of 20 Summer 2016 inductees into the Society, which facilitates involvement and recognizes engaged, well-rounded undergraduate students who excel within and beyond the classroom in the areas of leadership, internship, service, international, and research.

College of Criminology and Criminal Justice programs and students were selected to represent Florida State University programs of excellence during incoming Senate President Joe Negron’s State University System Listening Tour on April 18.
As part of the visit, criminology students Heather Loveridge, undergraduate criminology major, and Ph.D. students Cresean Hughes, Sergio Garduno, and Julie Mestre Brancale, gave visiting Senators a snapshot of the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
