Dr. Owusu-Ansah Agyapong
The College of Criminology and Criminal Justice at Florida State University mourns the loss of Dr. Owusu-Ansah Agyapong. Agyapong, 61, passed away on August 25, 2014. He was a Professor in Florida A & M University’s Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice.

On Friday, June 20, the 2014 Thirty Under 30 and the six recipients of the Reubin O’D. Askew Young Alumni Award were honored at the Young Alumni Awards Dinner. The Florida State University Alumni Association’s Thirty Under 30 Award was created to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of FSU’s young alumni. FSU Criminology is pleased to announce one of its own Ph.D. graduates, Karla Dhungana was among the list of recipients. Karla is a Senior Research Associate at The Pew Charitable Trusts in Washington, D.C.

This decision made by university officials marks the second effort toward making one of its top-ranked programs accessible to students nationwide.

Meghan Speakes Collins Extensive data collected by the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) can help predict which youths are most likely to commit additional crimes following release from a residential placement. Also, youths often experience improvements in behavior during their residential stay, and those with the greatest improvements are less likely to commit new crimes.
