Recent College of Criminology and Criminal Justice graduate, Catherine Meadors, was inducted into the Garnet and Gold Scholar Society
on Aug. 4.
Ms. Meadors was one of 20 Summer 2016 inductees into the Society, which facilitates involvement and recognizes engaged, well-rounded undergraduate students who excel within and beyond the classroom in the areas of leadership, internship, service, international, and research.

Henri Crockett is not your average College of Criminology and Criminal Justice alumnus. Where many criminology students go into law enforcement, corrections, government agencies, or something similar after graduation, Mr. Crockett found himself in the National Football League (NFL).

College of Criminology and Criminal Justice was highlighted as a significant recruitment source for a fraud-detection company. In a recent USA Today article, the College’s graduates, including Amanda Huston and recent graduate Kaitlyn Reichenbach were recognized among the high-quality hires for Pondera Solutions, an emerging high-tech business focused on detecting fraud and waste within government, with offices in Tallahassee, California, and Ohio. Internship opportunities are currently available with the Public Defenders Office in Leon County. In addition to being a great addition to your resume, this internship can also be taken for academic credit and in place of minor requirements.
Interns at the Public Defender’s Office work in the Investigative Division alongside attorneys and investigators conducting intake interviews.

Each month the College of Criminology and Criminal Justice will feature an internship opportunity especially for criminology students. As well as being great additions to your resume, the featured internships can also be taken for academic credit. This month’s featured internship is the Pat Thomas Law Enforcement Academy (PTLEA).

The Tallahassee U.S. Probation Office is seeking a computer criminology student for a fall internship, with hopes that it will turn into a full time position. Ideally they are interested in a student who has an interest in digital forensics and probation work. Experience in the tools listed below is preferred but not required.
