The College is pleased to announce that Jillian Turanovic is the recipient of the 2019 Ruth Shonle Cavan Young Scholar Award.

Five College of Criminology & Criminal Justice graduate students have been nominated for the 2018-19 Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award.

College of Criminology & Criminal Justice professor Daniel Mears is the recipient of the 2019 Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences’ Outstanding Book Award. Dr. Mears received the award for his book, Out-of-Control Criminal Justice.

College of Criminology and Criminal Justice student Nicole Juarez was among the 59 undergraduate students to be inducted into the prestigious Garnet & Gold Scholar Society for Fall 2018.

The College is pleased to announce that Dr. Jillian Turanovic has been chosen to receive the 2018 Developmental & Life-Course Criminology Early Career Award.

On July 25, College of Criminology and Criminal Justice students Kristen Neville, Amber Sagastume, and Christina Toussaint were inducted into the prestigious Garnet & Gold Scholar Society.

Dr. George Pesta, the College of Criminology & Criminal Justice Veteran Liaison, was honored by the Florida State University Student Veterans Center with the 2018 Guidon Award.

The College is pleased to announce that Dr. Daniel P. Mears, Mark C. Stafford Professor of Criminology has just been named a Fellow of the American Society of Criminology (ASC).

College of Criminology and Criminal Justice faculty member Dr. Kevin Beaver, Judith Rich Harris Professor of Criminology, is among the most productive criminology and criminal justice scholars in the nation. The designation was determined in a recent article published in the Journal of Criminal Justice Education — “Citation Trajectories of Academic Stars from the “Hit Parade””, by Wesley G. Jennings.
